• CBSE: Brief about CBSE and our teaching practices

“True education is that which draws out and stimulates the spiritual, intellectual and physical faculties of the children” – Mahatma Gandhi

We believe that education has the potential to transform individuals and societies. At the same time, to improve the quality of teaching, there is a need to develop creativity in teachers and learners. To this effect, we have developed the Creative Teaching Model- CTM of teaching, here at LCPS.

As part of our teaching practices, we encourage children to build upon their strengths both within and outside the classroom. Further, our teachers work as enablers and systematically help students to walk on their chosen future paths with pride.

LCPS is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) New Delhi with a vision to ensure quality learning in all spheres. As part of our instruction, English is studied as the first language, Kannada/Hindi/Sanskrit is studied as the second language, and Hindi is studied as the third language (when not opted for as the second choice).

We place prime importance on co-curricular activities and community services for children and also provide counseling and mentoring sessions for our pupils, in addition to study tours, cultural excursions to ensure practical exposure for students.

Our ultimate aim is to bring forth holistic well-being and education for students.

  • Educational ethos and values

At LCPS, our educational ethos is based on four pillars – Sensory, Emotional, Intellectual, and Spiritual. By combining these values, we have built a system of instruction that fosters qualitative learning for each of our pupils.

We believe in going beyond the books and bringing joy into learning. To aid this, our teachers make use of models, specimens, charts, audio systems, slide projectors, multimedia, television, and various other means of support in their teaching methods.

In enhancing upon the traditional path of education, we also arrange group discussions, presentations, symposiums, thematic discussions, field trips, excursions, science exhibitions, debates, quiz competitions.

Lastly, we keep our ancient traditional values on an equal pedestal with regular prayers and celebrations of national and religious festivals. Our students are encouraged to imbibe academic knowledge while keeping intact the principles of kindness and social good at all times.

  • About our classes

LCPS is currently operating classes from the 1ST to the 12th grade. The school is equipped with modern-day facilities such as a dedicated library, a laboratory, two digital classrooms and, a sprawling playground.

Keeping in mind the intellectual, social, and ethical needs of children, our classes offer a culmination of digital skills and traditional values. We prepare our students to confidently face the challenges of life and grow up as disciplined and critical thinkers of tomorrow.

Our medium of instruction is updated to meet the technological needs of today and is designed in a manner that enables maximum knowledge retention and engagement amongst students. That said, we are constantly working towards creating an even more immersive learning environment for our pupils.

  • Infrastructure

While teachers play an eminent role in shaping the future of students, we believe that a sound environment is equally important for their well-rounded upbringing. With an intent to provide a positive milieu to the students, LCPS has the best-in-class facilities in place.

Our premises is spread over an area of 8093 sq. mts with 24 rooms in total. It boasts a massive playground, a well-stocked library, a canteen, as well as a clinic facility indoors. Keeping in mind the significance of extra-curricular activities, we have also a dedicated sports facility with indoor as well as outdoor games.

In addition to sports, our school also has a dance and music facility with equipment such as the harmonium, guitar, and speakers. We also have separate toilets for girls and boys that are supervised and regularly cleaned by our in-house staff.

We also recognize the importance of computer skills in today’s world which is why we have created two digital classrooms within the premises. Our curriculum is designed to support web-based learning programs and we also have a full-fledged computer lab in operation

In addition to the above, we have special provisions for resting rooms, activity rooms, as well as transportation services at the school. To ensure the complete safety of students, we also have CCTV cameras installed across the premises along with trained attendants and guards deputed on all entry/exit points.

  • Importance of Parent Education on Parenting

Tips for Parents to Ensure Holistic Wellbeing for Children

The most important life lessons are learned at home. It is therefore important to foster the right environment for students and to be the best role models to them. Experts have time and again stressed the need for the right parenting when it comes to the holistic wellbeing of young minds, and we at LCPS second that.

Practice what you preach: Since kids emulate most of what their parents do, it is essential to set the right example before them. If you preach certain habits and coax your child to do it, chances are they may not follow it through. However, if you are to do something yourself day after day, the young one will eventually come by and start following in your footsteps.

Kindness begins at home: It is also extremely crucial to lead with love and kindness instead of fear and anger. Choosing the right kind of techniques in handling your children will ensure that they do not grow up into harsh or hardened individuals. To bring up an empathetic and happy child, you must provide him or her with a loving atmosphere.

Use Assertion over Aggression: Parents often end up being overly strict on their kids. While it is important to discipline them, overdoing it or using the wrong tactics may be more harmful than good in the long run. Instead of using anger or aggression to drive across your point, choose assertion instead. Similarly, instead of using fear as a means of getting things done, use positive reinforcement.

Your little is bound to follow you – make sure you lead the way right!

  • Counseling for Students, Staff, and Parents

Sometimes parenthood can feel burdensome. The requisite of raising kids right and building a bright future for them could get overwhelming. At the same time, kids too can feel deterred under the weight of academics and extracurricular activities. The constant pressure of fulfilling the many million expectations upon them could bog them down.

At LCPS, we understand the journey and the peculiar problems of parents as well as our students well. That is why we encourage them to undertake counseling sessions from time to time with our empaneled experts. The sessions are aimed at providing a safe space for them and have often seen to be extremely useful.

We also counsel and train our staff on the right methods and techniques in teaching and behavior. This enables us to create a better schooling environment and eventually further our vision of holistic learning for all. If you’d like to book a counseling session for yourself or your child, write to us at LCPSDwd@gmail.com.
